PROPANE HANDLING

Ontario Regulations under the Energy Act require that anyone who handles propane or propane fuelled equipment must be the holder of a certificate or in possession of an accepted Record of Training (ROT).

First Response offers this training over four (4) hours.
The contents of the course are:
  • Propane Characteristics and Technical Information.
  • Liquid and Vapour Propane Systems
  • Cylinder Components and Inspection
  • Cylinder Changing Procedures, Handling and Storage
  • Receiving Policy and Procedures
  • Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
  • Responsibilities, Safety, Emergency Response and BBQ Tips
For in-house training, we need a quiet room, classroom style with a TV & VCR, flip chart, overhead projector and an area to perform the practical with a tow motor or the propane powered equipment that the workers will be using.

To complete the course, participants will be required to attain at least a 75% pass mark on the test.

The ROT is valid for three (3) years with annual refresher training recommended.
